Basic Income in Canada needs to include the middle class & protect low-income families from inflation
PETITION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA
FOR A NEW DISTRIBUTIONAL AND FISCAL ANALYSIS REPORT ON GUARANTEED LIVABLE BASIC INCOME FOR ALL THREE SCENARIOS

WHEREAS the continuing poverty crisis in Canada remains over 1 million Canadians;
WHEREAS Canada made it a priority to fight poverty and have a National Poverty Reduction Strategy;
WHEREAS the last report April 7, 2021 was incomplete of all 3 scenarios;
WHEREAS the population of Canada should be properly informed with all options;
AND WHEREAS a disproportionate amount Canadians were excluded from analysis before;

We, the undersigned residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to
request the Parliamentary Budget Officer of Canada to perform another Distributional and Fiscal Analysis report based on, including the following but not limited to;
 
a) Updated Population Statistics from Statistics Canada using SPSD/M 29.0 not 28.0;
b) Include the 17 years of age category as per Bill C-223; including 5 year outlook of 12years turning 17years;
c) Include populations of Territories, Reserves, and if agreed upon, Seniors above 65 in lieu of GIS;
d) Adjust the Disabled portion from $6,000 per year to $9,000 per year and continue means-tested free;
e) Analyze all three scenarios of means testing, 50%, 25% and 15% for a real cost to Canadians comparison
